INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The aim of an individual development plan (IDP) is to provide clarity for coaches, players and parents regarding the development and progression of a player under the guidance of a specific coach. A well constructed IDP allow all stakeholders to understand the process of skill development and work being done to improve the players skill and their performance levels.

Below is a framework for coaches to use when building a IDP with a young player relating to their batting development. The completed IDP should be used as a reference to track progress map out the way forward. It should also be shared with parents or other coaches should it be necessary.
