Proteas vs Pakistan ODI Review

How pleased I was for AB de Villiers in this ODI series. After much criticism about his leadership capabilities, he lead from the front and played a huge role in creating some winning momentum as the series unfolded. What really excited me was how we dominated the last 3 matches, playing the type of cricket that we always aspire to. As I have always believed the Protea batting line up is full of quality and to see 100’s been scored again is fantastic. All this on foreign conditions against arguably the best one day bowling attack in the world.

The bowlers have also been outstanding this series and it was great to see everyone making a contribution and most importantly, at different stages in the match.

Ryan Mclaren has had a magnificent year for the Proteas in ODI cricket. He has been given a chance to secure the all rounders position and has taken it with both hands.

Quinton de Kock has made his mark in international cricket and he has no intention of playing anywhere else but at the highest level of the game. His aggressive mindset and his willingness to play a fearless style of cricket, is a great asset to the Proteas.

Well done to the Proteas, it has been a tough year in ODI cricket, but you have shown great perseverance, courage and determination by dominating an away series.
