Twenty five year old, David Lloyd, who scored his maiden first-class hundred in 2016, scored another century for Glamorgan this weekend, this time a career best of 119 against Gloucestershire.
David was one of three players sent from Glamorgan CCC to join GKC in Cape Town for the 2018 High Performance Academy. As an allrounder, he put a significant amount of time and work into fine tuning specific elements of his game in both the batting and bowling department whilst working with Gary Kirsten and the GKC High Performance coaching team and consultants. This investment has already paid dividends. David commented, “I was very pleased starting my season with a hundred! It was a long winter, working and training hard, and spending two months in Cape Town with the GKC HPA coaches was vital for my preparation coming into the season”.
Head coach for GKC, Ryan Cook said, “We have a great relationship with Glamorgan and hope to continue moving their players on to the next level. It has been great for David to put some performances on the board in the early season. David is a very determined young player, and offers great value in his skillsets and behaviours”.
Upon reflection of the program David said, “It has really given me a lot of confidence, and I know my game more than I did the year before, hopefully I can keep the form going”. GKC wish him best for the rest of the season and hope he can continue these performances and to walk the journey with him in the following seasons.
