Gary Kirsten is set to return to India for the second time in three months for a 5-day coaching clinic in India.
The well recognisable and renowned figure after winning the ICC World Cup with India in 2011 enjoys working on the sub-continent with passionate young cricketers.
He will head over with Ryan Cook, Director of the High Performance progamme at the Gary Kirsten Academy.
The pair will work together with 30 players aged between 14-20 from the Saldanha Cricket Academy.
”It is brilliant to go out there and see how much these players love the game. We will be running an intensive programme which includes morning and afternoon sessions,” Cook explained.
It also gives Kirsten and Cook a chance to share their knowledge on the game with other coaches.
”There will be a coach the coaches session. It is about sharing ideas. We learn a lot every time we go to India. It is fascinating to see how they approach the game and how they think compared to South Africans cricketers,” Cook said.
”It is also great to see how Indian players approach spin. It is aggressive and South African players can learn a lot from them, ” Cook concluded.
